Hormone Replacement Therapy Litigation

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) places women at higher risk for breast cancer, ovarian cancer and other serious illnesses, according to recent medical and scientific studies. If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with breast cancer, ovarian cancer or with any other cancers typically associated with females, and if you have regularly used hormone replacement drugs for menopause, there is a possibility that the hormone replacement therapy may have fed your cancer.

Hormone replacement therapy has been associated with invasive lobular cancer and estrogen-receptor positive invasive ductal cancer. Hormone Replacement Therapy and Cancer

Hormone replacement therapy is medication containing one or more female hormones, commonly estrogen plus progestin. HRT is often prescribed to treat symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness, mood swings, sleep disorders and decreased sexual desire. This medication is typically taken in the form of a pill, a patch or vaginal cream.

There has been litigation involving allegations against Prempro, Premphase, Premarin, Provera and others. Women who took these drugs may have an increased risk of developing certain types of breast cancer. There have been allegations made that the manufacturers of these drugs did not have FDA approval for all of the conditions for which these drugs were being prescribed.
