Omar Lopez

Omar Lopez comes from a working-class family and is a proud first-generation college and law school graduate. His roots inspired him to dedicate his career to advocating for everyday people. Omar earned his Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from the University of Iowa, where he was recognized on the Dean’s List and President’s List and was active in various student organizations, including serving as both Community Service Chairman and Awards Chairman of the Delta Chi Fraternity. He was also invited to serve as an undergraduate research fellow at the University of Iowa’s Public Policy Center, where he participated in a student-led research team that examined policing protocols during mental health crises.
After completing his undergraduate studies, Omar earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law. He graduated from law schoolmagna cum laudeand ranked in the top five of his law school class. He was a candidate and staff editor for the UIC Law Review, served as an associate director for UIC Law’s Herzog Moot Court Competition, and competed in three national moot court competitions. He earned Dean’s List recognition every semester, received a Dean’s Scholarship, and was active in various student organizations, including UIC Law’s Restorative Justice Program.

During law school, Omar clerked for a notable litigation firm, a criminal defense firm, and the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. These roles provided him with a wide range of valuable experience in litigation and regulatory matters.

Drawing back on his upbringing, Omar focuses on workers’ compensation and personal injury law. Omar seeks to assist clients with securing justice and support following workplace injuries and other life-altering events. His dedication to advocating for everyday people reflects both his professional commitment and his upbringing. Outside of work, Omar enjoys watching football, basketball, and mixed martial arts, and can be found rooting for the Chicago Bears, Chicago Bulls, and the University of Iowa Hawkeyes.
